Death

I want to die in my footsteps
And lay down to sleep
Upon the dreary barren ground
I find this mountain too steep

I want to sleep in the meadow
And never move from between the leaves
I don’t want to be buried
I’ll stay in the open and find my peace

I won’t be able my friend
I can’t hold my head up high
The meaning of life is lost
And I desire to die

The morning won’t come
The night is all I long to see
All we do is talk
And time is running from me

The hour is near
I want to drink the water and drown
Forget me, I’m a weary man
Just don’t put me under the ground
